<description>We have all been bombarded with gorgeous imagery from the Space Race of the 1960's and frankly its gotten to be a bit over saturated. I recently came across the images that public never gets to see, the fuck ups. In a lot of ways these abstract technically incorrect photos are far more appealing than some of the good ones.

Tom Sachs' newest exhibition at first glance might seem like a glorified space camp that someone is trying to call art, but understanding Sachs' style and mentality we realized that this is in an incredible exhibition not to be missed. Sachs' will be occupying the 55,000 square foot Wade Thompson Drill Hall creating an immersive installation that is reminiscent of the Apollo Program but will be focused around Mars. The installation is going to consist of methodically constructed sculptures and creations that are necessary for Sachs' four week mission to Mars. Sachs and his thirteen person studio team or "crew" will be demonstration all the aspects of the installation necessary for survival such as scientific exploration, and colonization in extraterrestrial environs: from food delivery systems and entertainment to agriculture and human waste disposal. Sachs' and his crew will even be "lifting off" to Mars several times during their residency at the iconic Park Avenue Armory space. Even Nike is getting behind this exhibition with the release of Sachs' own "NikeCraft: Mars Yard Shoe".

Here at the 607VSL the studio we are reminded of our print "MOON VOYAGE"

<description>Process in art has always been a discussion, whether or not its an interesting discussion is a different story. Ofra Lapid has a fascinating process behind her series Broken Houses. The series focuses on structures that have been neglected by their human counterparts and have fallen victim to weather and decay. The work reminds us of Kevin Cyr's work of documentation and reconstruction of a local environment.

Lapid began while pursuing an amateur photographer via the Internet. During Lapid's search she came across a North Dakota photographer who obsessively photographs abandoned structures. From these photographs Lapid reconstructions each of the abandoned structures in small-scale models. The models are then photographed in a studio setting and are omitted from their typical context, the result are fantastic. –Brent DCVII Gentile

<description>I came across this amazing collection of World War Two era bomber jackets. The graphics and images are really incredible from the amount of detail to overall compositions. It is incredible how personal each of the jackets are to each of the bombers.

<description>We just released our newest product the past Wednesday, and we are really excited about it. I happen to come across this video about t-shirt culture that is fascinating, it seemed appropriate to post along with our new release.

The design for The Union Worker was inspired by my late grandfather, Francis Moleti, a union man himself. He worked as a tin-knocker on the World Trade Centers. He belonged to the Local 27 Tin Knockers Union out of New York City. Our worker t-shirt is an homage to him and simpler times. See more in the 607SHOP

<description>During times of reform and heated political battles creative individuals often come to the forefront to lead with innovate grass-roots campaigns. With the election of President Obama we saw Shepard Fairey, in the 1960's we saw Emory Douglas, today we have "Occupy George".

Occupy George has been placing info graphics on dollar bills driving home the points of the Occupy Wall Street movement. The Occupy George website explains "Money talks, but not loud enough for the 99%. By circulating dollar bills stamped with fact-based infographics, Occupy George informs the public of America's daunting economic disparity one bill at a time. Because money knowledge is power." See more and download templates to occupy your own dollar bills here.

As designers we have always speculated the idea of being invited to design an Apollo era mission patch for NASA. Here at 607 we have created our very own 607VSL mission patches. Included in the design are Roman numerals DCVII and MMXI to represent 607 and the year 2011.
